Coleen Rooney Revives Wagatha Christie Investigator Skills
Coleen Rooney has turned her famous sleuthing abilities to football's biggest off-pitch controversy, starring in a brand-new Paddy Power sketch that sees her investigating Manchester City's Financial Fair Play (FFP) case.
The 39-year-old partner of footballer Wayne Rooney, whose own prominent detective work earned her the nickname 'Wagatha Christie', has partnered with the Irish bookie to announce its record-breaking 'Justice Refund'.
In the video, Rooney directs a satirical 'Investigation Department', tackling a variety of mock cases with her trademark no-nonsense method.
Set in an imaginary office, she analyzes tongue-in-cheek complaints including whether 'absolutely nothing beats a Jet2 vacation' and the 'most current refereeing conspiracy theories' by Arsenal fans, before uncovering a suspicious telephone call from a 'Mr Howard Wobb' applauding VAR.
But the sketch's huge minute comes when she turns her attention to football's long-running FFP legend, providing her own 'verdict' with an understanding seek to the cam: if the video game's authorities won't sort it out, Paddy Power will.
The Paddy Power 'Justice Refund' is a repayment scheme offering cash back to all punters who backed a group that finished second to Manchester City in the Premier League considering that 2011.
